We have two very exciting foals out of Ascona M - full brother and sister and by Amiro Z

Ascona M (Ava) came to us in September 2021 and she now stands as a brood mare.  She has been an amazingly talented horse, winning Luhmulen 5* in 2019, 6th Pau 5* 2019 and many top 10 placings at all levels throughout her career with Jonelle and Tim Price.

Amiro Z - has a superb temperament, he has plenty of scope and competed internationally with success to 1.45m.  He is almost 70% blood  and is a very popular stallion for event horse breeders. He is an easy, rideable stallion with plenty of scope and quick in the air.  He has a number of successful progeny in eventing including Amiro Island (2016) ridden by Harry Meade, many top 10 at Intermediate and 2nd in 2*L 2023.  Corimiro (2016) ridden by Sarah Bullimore, 1st 7 year old class and 3*L in 2023.  Caunton First Class (2014) ridden by Oliver Townend, many top 5 placings at 3*.

We are very pleased with the stamp of the foals who are very athletic and easy to handle for us and the farrier.

V.I.P Vinnie is now retired from Eventing. He is going to be loaned out and have a career in Dressage.  We will be forever grateful for everything that was achieved with him and everything he taught us. 

Purchased as a 4 year old and was obviously talented from day one. He hasn’t disappointed since.  He loves to be the centre of attention and has always been top dog. 

He likes to perform on the big stages and they bring the best out in him. He now realises there are some young guns around and let's them know who's boss! 

His dressage has improved hugely over the years and we look forward to his future success.

Following XC retirement at his first 5* Vinnie had 2022 on the sidelines and although he competed at the beginning of 2023 it was decided that he should be retired from Eventing.

2021

3rd After Dressage at his first 5* at Bicton International. Sadly I had to pull him up after the second fence on the xc as I felt a change in his stride pattern. I am so glad I noticed as he injured a tendon. I don't like to imagine what would have happened had I not felt this. Nothing like the HIGHS and LOWS of the sport all in the space of 24 hours at the highest level.

Conquer is bred to show jump and we bought him as a 6 year old.  He likes his own space and given the choice wouldn’t have anyone in the next door stable. He is a sensitive character .  His confidence improved hugely over the years and this shows in his results and achievements.  

When away at big competitions we have to be one step ahead of him in how to keep him relaxed. He is a machine cross country. Where errors occurred they were not his doing.   He had a very good first half of 2022 finishing at Bramham 4*L with a good dressage, double clear with time faults keeping him out of the prizes.  We then gave him the rest of the year off as he had a small injury but he is back out in 2023 starting with a 7th in the Lincoln OI.

The Partner  (Conquer)

Otto has just competed at Cirencester Novice March 2023 and Finished on his dressage score of 27 - finishing second. 

Otto is super straight cross country and has a very easy big gallop.  He has lovely paces on the flat. He has been slow to develop due to his breeding but he has strengthened over the winter which will help his show jumping to continue to improve. He now has the Marlborough Downs to hack over so this will seriously help his development. 

Otto is hacked by everyone on the yard including myself and is beyond easy to manage on the ground at the yard.

Dom is Owned by Parkfield Breeding. He joined Will’s team in October 2019.  The first lockdown played into his hands giving Will the chance to train him into his system. He is an exciting addition to the team with great promise. We are very much enjoying his development.

Safe to say that moving yards in the middle of the season isn't ideal - however, the team worked unbelievably hard to make it all happen and leaving our last yard in immaculate condition.  A huge thanks goes to all of team. 

Think we were all ready for a holiday once it was done but it was time to bring all the horses back into work for the second half of the season.

We had a very successful day with three horses coming out at Aston Le Walls (3) for their first run after their spring 3 days.  They all did exactly what was asked of them - 3 good tests and double clears with steady cross country.

Mackenzy is stepping up to Intermediate next week at Burgham, with Camee de Muze doing the 3*S and Ballycoog Breaker Boy the 4*S.  Really looking forward to being back there as missed it last year.

BRITISH EVENTING TEAM CONFIRMED FOR 2024 NATIONS CUP ARVILLE

British Eventing is pleased to announce the squad that have been selected to represent Great Britain at Arville Nations Cup between 15 – 18 August are as follows:

Alex Bragg from Bridgwater, Somerset, with 11-year-old gelding Ardeo Premier, owned by Debbie and Neill Nuttall.

 Selena Milnes from Clevedon, Somerset, with 10-year-old gelding Cooley Snapchat, owned by Mr & Mrs William Rucker.

Aaron Miller from Malmesbury, Wiltshire, with 10-year-old gelding Count Onyx, owned by Alexandra Van Tuyll.

Will Rawlin from Hungerford, Berkshire, with 14-year-old gelding The Partner, owned by rider and Andy and Miranda Rawlin.

The squad will be accompanied by Chef d’Equipe Philip Surl.

The British Eventing teams are supported by the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Programme, funded by UK Sport through the National Lottery. The Programme focuses on identifying talent, developing potential and maximising medal-winning performances on the world stage.



***NEWS FLASH*** Nations Cup Call Up

Sometimes it's just not your day!!  Poor Conquer (The Partner) came down with a a high temperature on Cross country morning.  It's fair to say that his dressage was below par the day before although there were no signs of a high temp, but just maybe he wasn't feeling on top form - such a shame as he had been feeling great and travelled out really well.  We had really hoped to have a good crack at the cross country as he stormed round it in 2023 with just a glance off towards the end of the course so we were hoping to make amends!! 

However, the weather on cross country morning was tropical rain so perhaps he knew something we didn't!!

A big shout out to Siobhan Binns for looking after him so well and giving him all the attention he deserved. 

On return from Luhumhlen he has been given time to recover  - and as we are in the process of moving yards,  this will delay when he and the others come out for their second half of the season campaign, which I am very much looking forward to.

Back to work the normal day job following a great week at Badminton

Tenz and Camee de Muze both ran very well in the Intermediate at Aston le walls with Tenz finishing 7th in his section despite my mistake in the show jumping which cost him a clear round and as always great cross country and much improved dressage.  It was lovely to have Tenz's owners with us to watch and see how he is progressing. 

Camee de Muze did a very accurate test to score 21.8 lying second going into show jumping and proceeded to continue his double clear run with a fast run cross country before his 3* long at Bicton taking the win. 

Mackenzy also had a good run in the Novice ahead of his run at Bicton 2*L with a good double clear to finish 10th, whilst Cullion Womanizer didn't have his best day despite an improved dressage but sadly had a stop SJ and also XC but then stormed round in his usual fashion.





Aston Le Walls

We got there, which is an achievement in itself competed and completed, and I was thrilled with my partner - Ballycoog Breaker Boy.  All these years people have been saying there is nothing like Badminton and boy are they right.

We have been a team for the last 8 years and this is what those last 8 years work has been aimed at.  Despite having one horse there Siobhan Binns (Top Groom) didn't stop in her care of BBB and I couldn't be more grateful.  I also didn't seem to stop between hacking out, trot ups, schooling, general exercising, lessons, competing, commitments to my wonderful sponsors and of course all the many friends that came to support me.  It really was quite the experience. 

I was of course disappointed that we didn't get BBB's extended trot in the dressage as this had a massive affect on our score as it affected two scores in the test.  Despite this we got it back together and the rest of the test was good.  The atmosphere in there was quite something  - I wasn't conscious of the crowd but very much aware of the atmosphere.

Cross Country we had each others back - and worked together to help each other out when needed - a great round and lots left in the tank so I know what we have for future 5* events. 

Show jumping was a tough track and very cleverly built by the designer using every dip and furrow  - resulting in only 3 clear rounds! Despite our poles I was very pleased with how William Show Jumped which is definitely his weakest phase and very much work in progress.

A massive thank you to the HUGE team that have got me to this point, not just the current team but past team members also - everyone has contributed to this exciting achievement. Exciting times ahead

First Badminton  - "wouldn't have wanted to be on any other horse"

Cirencester:

Tenz and Camee de Muze both had very good runs at Cirencester Park before the rain came down and caused the rest of the weekend to be cancelled.  Both of them did good tests and double clears with Tenz finishing 9th and Camee de Muze 10th - both running steadily xc as planned. 


Osberton International 

Tenz, Camee de Muze and Mackenzy all had very good runs in their 3*S and 2*S respectively.  Thursday proved to be a reminder of what competing in the sun was like - but sadly this didn't last for the weekend although was improved compared to recent weeks.  

All three worked well in the dressage and both Camee de Muze and Mackenzy had double clears and learnt a lot from their cross country rounds which were both tough tracks and very twisty
Both sections were very big and we were very pleased with Camee de Muze finishing 11th in the 3* and Mackenzy 5th in the 2*.  Tenz was amazing cross country so straight and loved every minute and tried very hard in the SJ but just caught a couple of poles. Both 3 * horses were run steadily xc as planned.

A good weekend with all three horses doing very nice double clears..............in the sun!

This weekend was also interspersed with celebrations for my 30th Birthday -  It was lovely, with no actual competing to do on the Saturday, that we were able to get off site and go to the Beach.

Ballycoog Breaker Boy (4*S) did a good test but we fluffed a change which was costly as they are double points in that test, but the rest of his work was good. He then did a great show jumping round and accurate cross country round which was planned to have some time penalties.

The Partner (4*) did a good test for him and great to have his show jumping back on form following  Thoresby and he just felt mega on the cross country track. 

Camee de Muze's dressage didn't go according to plan - this was his first stay away and he was a touch over excited. However, he more than made up for it with his excellent jumping both sj and xc. 

Also, Well done to Marianna Sawyer, who completed her first 3* with a great XC round.

Next outing at Kelsall with the youngsters and then 7 rides at Cirencester over the following weekend.

Mackenzy and Cullion Womanizer had a good run at Kelsall Hill 2* S.

It was their first time working in an indoor arena for their dressage test and they both coped well with the atmosphere and luckily the resident owl stayed put during their tests.

Show Jumping wasn't our best but for some reason that arena was making some very good show jumpers very green including both horses. They just went very spooky.

XC was great on both with Cullion Womanizer giving me a great round, very straight at all the fences and coping with the change in ground around the course very well.  Mackenzy also had a good round but not quite so fluent but good enough to bring him in to 9th place in his first 2*S.

Ronnie is related to Ballycoog Breaker Boy, sharing the same sire. They both have very similar attributed, which is what attracted Will to Ronnie.

Bought as a 5 year old, he is an exciting prospect that joined the team in November 2022 and has shown huge talent and determination needed for Eventing.

He has a lovely character on the ground and has lots of ability in all three phases.  He is particularly talented cross country where he is confident and always looking for the next set of flags.

Will be aimed for Intermediate and CCI3* in 2025

Hannah has been taking photos of Will competing for the last couple of years and this website is full of her high premium quality photographs.

This year she is supporting Will. We are very grateful for this and love having her around at the competitions and the yard.  Hannah is  very much part of the key team.
