We had a short trip up the road to Cirencester Park for two days competing.

Day one was Ballycoog Breaker Boy in the OI. I pulled out one of his best results with a 25.2 and double clear to stay in 2nd from start to finish. He was consistent in all three phases still with areas of improvement.

The Dominator PFB was making his international debut in the 2*S. He produced a much improved test compared to recent events and was able to have time and relax more in the big arena. There were a couple of obvious blips that marred the score. Despite that it was a very encouraging start to the weekend.

Day two The Dominator PFB returned for his jumping phases. He had a clear show jumping which was great but was a little distracted at times as this was his first occasion with a crowd and marquees due to Covid. His confidence in the XC grew as we went round and this was his best round yet. He covers the ground effortlessly and we were clear inside the time. We finished 15th out of 70 - all very close and only a better dressage would have improved his placing.

V.I.P Vinnie , in the advanced, did a very good test and was lying 4th after dressage, despite me coming out feeling slightly deflated by it. One of the judges has suggested that I take more risk particularly with my medium and extended work. I will give this ago at Aston and see what happens!!!
He did a super double clear and came home with some time to finish just outside the top 10.

The Partner was also in the advanced, but sadly he came out fresh and tense, so the test was a question of making the best of what we had on he day. Unfortunately warming up for the show Jumping Mum noticed he had a cut on his front leg below the fetlock. As a result we had to withdraw as we were unable to sort it in time to run and we didn't want to risk an infection, therefore causing it to be worse. He had a boring day waiting for the others to compete as he ha had an early dressage.
